“I had way too much care after my baby! I COULD HAVE USED LESS!” - SAID…..NO ONE

What is a DOULA?

A doula is a trained professional that guides and supports mothers and families during the childbearing years (labor, birth, postpartum and beyond).

What is a POSTPARTUM Doula? A postpartum doula specializes in the transition from pregnancy to new parent. A postpartum doula takes care of YOU, so you can take care of your new baby.

Why do I need one? A postpartum doula focuses on the new mother and ensuring her recovery is on the right path. “If a mother’s cup is empty, no one feeds!”

Take this sacred and critical time to let an expert show you how to eat the best foods (they might surprise you), care for yourself and set up the best recovery at home. What you do in the first 40 days, can affect you for the next 40 years of life! A postpartum doula also helps you to find the BEST SUPPORT network and tribe within your community. Not to mention, providing hands on touch for emotional and physical support.

What is the Postpartum Period / 4th Trimester?

After a baby is born, a mother and child immediately enter into what is called the 4th Trimester.   The 4th Trimester is defined as the 12-week period immediately after you’ve had your baby. How you enter into this time can AND will affect your body & mind for years to come.

There are varying opinions on how long the postpartum period lasts.  Some say it’s 40 days, while others focus on the 12 weeks (the 4th Trimester), or some even say years.   In reality, once you give birth, you are forever postpartum.

Why Sara?

My name is Sara (Adams) McCarthy and I’m passionate about educating and empowering women in their Postpartum / 4th Trimester journey.

As the owner and founder of Teton Postpartum, my mission is to make postpartum experiences joyful, recognized, honored and accessible to all women, guiding them wisely and safely along the way.

I have two children, who were born in two different countries. My daughter was born in Taipei, Taiwan and son in Jackson Hole, WY.  I have experienced firsthand a different way to heal postpartum. IN MY OPINION, THE ONLY WAY!  To say these were different birth and postpartum experiences is an understatement.

I’ve lived in the Jackson Hole area since 2008 (with time abroad in Taiwan for 2.5 years). I love to hike, ski, anything on the water, traveling the world, and spending time with my family and friends as much as possible.

Let me show you the best ways to heal postpartum, a better way to approach the 4th Trimester, while helping you create solutions for a successful recovery – both mentally and physically.
